Welcome to Sixteenth & Stitch!

Creating things. Making memories. Sharing the joy of handmade.
HI!!!
I'm Ashley, the maker behind 16th & Stitch, and I'm so happy you're here!
If you know me, you know I love a good craft project. Sewing, painting, paper crafts, trying something new...you name it, and there's a pretty good chance I've either made it, attempted it, or added it to my ever-growing list of things I want to try.

And don't even get me started on craft supplies. Let's just say I have enough to keep me busy for a while!
But more than anything, I love making things for other people.
There's just something special about giving someone a gift you made with your own two hands. It doesn't have to be expensive or elaborate. Sometimes the simplest handmade gifts are the ones that mean the most. And that love of creating and giving is really where this whole story begins.
A Little About 16th & Stitch
16th & Stitch is my sewing business, where I create handmade gifts, quilts, and all sorts of stitched treasures. I love choosing fabrics, putting colors and patterns together, and watching an idea turn into something beautiful and useful. But what I love most is knowing that something I made might bring a smile to someone's face, become part of a special memory, or be treasured for years to come. To me, handmade has always meant a little more. It's personal. It's thoughtful. And it comes with a story.
So, What's This Collective All About?
I'm so glad you asked!
As much as I love creating things myself, I've realized there's something else I want to do.
I want to encourage other people to create, too. I want to share my love of crafting and gift-making with anyone who's willing to give it a try. That's why I'm growing 16th & Stitch to include the Collective. The idea is simple: make creativity fun, approachable, and something everyone can enjoy. Through DIY craft kits, creative projects, and eventually craft parties and group gatherings, I hope to help people discover the joy of making something themselves. Maybe you've never picked up a paintbrush. Maybe you haven't touched a sewing machine since home economics class. Or maybe you're the person who has an entire closet dedicated to craft supplies. There's room for all of us! You don't have to be an expert. You don't have to be naturally artistic. And you certainly don't have to make everything perfectly. You just have to be willing to try.
It's Not Just About What We Make
One of my favorite things about crafting is that the finished project is only part of the experience. It's the fun of choosing colors, learning something new, laughing at the little mistakes, and seeing how differently two people can approach the exact same project.
And then there's the giving. Imagine making a gift for a friend, creating something special with your children, or gathering a group of friends to spend an afternoon crafting together. Those are the moments I want to encourage. Because I believe the joy of handmade is meant to be shared.
What Can You Expect Around Here?
A little bit of everything! I'll be sharing projects, creative inspiration, handmade gift ideas, new craft kits, and behind-the-scenes peeks at what's happening with 16th & Stitch.
You'll see plenty of sewing, but you'll also find painting, paper crafts, seasonal projects, and whatever else my creative brain dreams up next.
I'm also excited about the possibility of bringing people together for craft parties, birthdays, girls' nights, and other creative gatherings.
There are so many ideas floating around in my head, and I can't wait to start sharing them with you.
Let's Make Something!
My hope for the Collective is pretty simple. I want someone to see a project and think, "I could do that!" I want people to feel inspired to try something new, proud of what they create, and excited to give something handmade to someone they love. And maybe, just maybe, we'll make some new friends and wonderful memories along the way.
So whether you're here to find a handmade gift, discover your next project, or just see what I'm making, I'm glad you've found your way here.
You don't have to be crafty. You just have to be curious.
Welcome to the Collective. I can't wait to see what we make together!
With love and a few loose threads,
Ashley
